Chief Executive Officer
Hartley Holtzhauzen
Hartley joined Bethesda in 2019. He is a company Director and General Secretary of the Bethesda Boards. Hartley also served as an Executive Board Member of the Seventh Day Adventists Church in NZ for many years.
He has a Masters Degree in Business Information Technology – University of Westminster, London. Management Diploma in Management and Finance – Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University. Strategic CIO Programme, University of Auckland. He is an Associate member of CPA Australia and the Institute of Directors NZ.
Hartley has held various Management roles internationally in South Africa, United Kingdom and New Zealand. Hartley has extensive technology and project management experience.
Village Sales Manager
Beth Hope
Beth first joined Bethesda in 2019 as the Village Sales Manager, responsible for all new sales, resales, and rentals.
She has an extensive background in sales, having worked as a company director for 20 years before joining Bethesda in 2019. She also has a diploma in primary teaching and has enjoyed six years in this field.
Beth is heavily involved in Village event management, project support and village life.
Finance Manager
Enrino Panes
Enrino is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) who has worked in Business and Finance for 19 years. He has a Master’s Degree in Business, majoring in Hospital and Healthcare Management, a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy, and a Real Estate appraiser and broker License.
He also has qualifications in NZ and Australia—Certificate in Business level 6 and Associate Member of CPA Australia.
Enrino is responsible for the Finance and accounting functions for both Bethesda Care and Bethesda Village Limited in, November 2019.
Maintenance Manager
Geoff Mathews
Geoff started at Bethesda Care Mid 2019 as the Maintenance/Property Manager.
Geoff has over thirty years of experience working in the furniture and construction industries before joining Bethesda.
Clinical Manager
Joyce King
Joyce is the Clinical Manager at Bethesda Care. She started her RN journey at Bethesda in 2020.
Joyce has finished BS Nursing and is a Registered Nurse with over 15 years of clinical experience, 10 years of those being in Aged Care and in leadership roles.
Joyce has been responsible for Clinical Care and well-being of Bethesda residents, Clinical staffing and Clinical Quality Management and Improvement.
Clinical Coordinator
Anna Binas
Anna is a Registered Nurse with 8 years of experience in New Zealand, with many of those in senior leadership roles. She was initially trained as a Registered Nurse in the Philippines, where she also gained her BSN.
Since joining Bethesda Care in June 2024, Anna has been involved in overseeing clinical matters, supporting the Clinical Manager. She is passionate about providing exceptional quality care to the elderly, Anna consistently looks for ways to incorporate past experience and systems into her practice, ensuring that care remains both efficient and compassionate.
Facilty Manager
Mae Saboo
Mae joined Bethesda in August 2022. She has qualifications in Education, Sterilizing Technology, Quality Assurance and Financial Services and has attended seminars and trainings on ISO internal Auditing.
She has extensive experience in Education overseas and in Sterilizing Technology in New Zealand which includes being a technician, internal auditor, a team leader, education and training coordinator.
As facility Manager, Mae oversees occupancy working together with residents and their families and government agencies to facilitate both long term admissions and short-term stay and the Management of the facility which includes quality control, internal auditing, health and safety, complaints management and management of Hospitality, Reception and the kitchen.
Chaplain
Evan Fray
Evan has a background in Engineering and working for the Seventh Day Adventist church setting up community development programmes in communities in New Zealand and Southeast Asia.
In February 2017 he was appointed chaplain for Bethesda Care running the facility chapel services, driving the Bethesda bus on outings and regular shopping trips but his passion is to lead out in discussions in conjunction with our diversional therapy staff to engage with residents in stimulating conversations around their younger lives and occupations.
"As a chaplain I try to be a good listener and communicate my desire to see that opportunities to learn about God are taken. I learn their names and try to understand their backgrounds and pain and communicate with residents and families to eliminate stressful situations. Patience, compassion and adaptability are my focus in my role within this unique profession."
